Last year, Natural Resources Canada predicted that climate change would bring worsening floods to Manitoba. Due to climate change, spring will come faster and warmer, causing a higher percentage of snow melt in a shorter period of time. As an equal consequence, there will be less water later in the year, especially in late summer when rivers are already low.

Is it merely a tragic coincidence that this spring has again brought devastating floods, only 12 years after the great flood of 1997?
