Siskinds LLP class actions partner Linda Visser was featured in a CBC News article addressing a class-action lawsuit involving an alleged conspiracy by seven salmon farming companies to manipulate global salmon prices. Linda provided insights into the strategic considerations and practicalities that companies weigh when confronted with the prospect of prolonged legal battles, offering a perspective on why the accused salmon farming companies opted for a settlement over defending the litigation.

Instead of payments to consumers, a $250,000 donation to Food Banks Canada will be made. The settlement is subject to approval by the Federal Court.
