People who spent time at the Camp Lejeune military base in Jacksonville, North Carolina at any point between August 1953 and December 1987 were exposed to contaminated water.
In 2022, the US congress passed a law which allowed people who were exposed to toxic water at Camp Lejeune the ability to file a claim against the US government to seek compensation for certain injuries. Claims had to be filed by August 10, 2024 to be eligible for compensation.
