Metal Recycler Fined $3,500 For Operating Unapproved Sewage Works

Orangeville – Melancthon Township metal recycling company 2133962 Ontario Inc., operating as Shelburne Iron & Metal was found guilty of one offence and was fined $3,500 for operating an unapproved sewage works at the Shelburne Iron & Metal property, contrary to the Ontario Water Resources Act (OWRA).

Company Fined $10,000 For Pesticides Act Violations

Hamilton – Brinkman & Associates Reforestation Ltd. was found guilty and fined $10,000 in relation to offences that occurred while the company was applying the herbicide, Garlon XRT to the Borer’s Creek floodplain, in violation of the Pesticides Act.

Uxbridge Business Owner Fined $18,000 For Non-compliance

Whitby – Uxbridge business owner fined $18,000 for failing to comply with a ministry order relating to an off-site water discharge.

Ottawa area Water Amusement Park fined $100,000 for Discharging a Contaminant

L’Original – Developpements Limoges Inc. operating as Calypso Water Park pleaded guilty to two offences and was fined $100,000 for discharging a contaminant into the natural environment and causing an adverse effect, contrary to the Environmental Protection Act.
