On February 13, 2017, an action was commenced in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Southwest Region – London, Ontario) (the “Court”) against Home Capital Group Inc. (“HCG”) and certain of its former directors and executive officers. (the “Action”).

In the Action, the Plaintiff alleged that certain of HCG's public disclosures released during the period November 5, 2014 to July 10, 2015 were materially misleading and actionable.

Developments

A settlement of the Action in the amount of $29.500,000 ("Settlement Funds"), paid for the benefit of affected class members. The settlement is a compromise of disputed claims and is not an admission of liability or wrongdoing by HCG or any other defendant named in the action. The settlement was approved by the Court.

The claims period to make a claim for compensation from the Settlement Funds has passed. No further claims are being accepted. All eligible claims have been processed by the claims administrator, RicePoint Class Action Services Inc., and the settlement funds have been distributed to eligible class members.
