A class action was commenced in which it was alleged that Maytag Corporation and Maytag Limited were negligent in the design, manufacture, marketing, sale and/or servicing of Maytag Neptune Front-Load Washing Machines, specifically that there are problems with:
i) odour, mould or mildew;
ii) the door latch/wax motor;
iii) the motor control; and
iv) related circuit board failures.
Damages were sought on behalf of all persons in Canada who purchased or acquired a Maytag Neptune Front-Load Washing Machine between April 1, 1997 and May 15, 2005.
The filing deadline for this action was August 6, 2006. This settlement has concluded and all claims have been paid.
