As new explosions demolish ever more of the Fukushima nuclear reactors, and as radioactivity spreads in air, soil and ocean water, environmental assessment hearings continue into the planned expansion of the Darlington nuclear plant near Toronto. Scheduled presenters at the hearing today will be driving the parallel home.
Meanwhile, high radiation continues to spread outside the exclusion zone, the International Atomic Energy Agency is calling for far more evacuations around Fukushima. It is unclear when, if ever, the residents of the Fukushima exclusion zone will be able to go home. And no one seems to know what the impact will be on the ocean and those who live there.
